Why Layla?

Layla was born to deceive; she is pretty, wears clothes that make her look like a doll and crunches Pocky; but in fact she's very cruel, almost demonic.

Haruka, having satisfied all my whims within cosplay, some time ago she expressed a desire to embody this character, possibly in a group.

She lent me all the volumes of the manga, she showed me the character that was right for me, bought a beautiful curly wig, and then she waited.

Such dedication had to be rewarded, right? ^__-

Venus Versus Virus is not so well known; the manga is finished in Japan, but here in Italy sales data are so scarce that the publications have been stopped for years at the fifth volume.

An anime has been produced also, but it never arrived here.

With these assumptions we were really afraid of not being recognized, but in reality we were really wrong! ^^

The Costume

Layla's Gown consists of two parts, a bodice and a skirt.

The bodice is in two colors, black with white details, it has a square neckline and ends with a tip on the front.
The white part, made of satin, has three plated ribbons inserted into seam, made of burgundy shantung.

The neckline and bottom are decorated with frills of white satin, a motif that is repeated on the bottom of the sleeves.

The skirt is a half wheel, black with an high, prussian blue jump at the bottom.

Accessories

One of the best things of this cosplay is the mini-hat, in goth-loli full style.
It is made with the same fabric of the costume and is decorated with burgundy satin ribbon.

A beautiful blonde very curly wig, white socks and baby shoes complete the experience.

Conclusions

It was a long, long time that Haru, Noy and I did not group together.

When Haru asked me to make this cosplay we took the opportunity to meet again all together and spend a day in gossip and photos.

We took advantage of the calm that reigns at Novegro fair to spend an afternoon as real friends, even if dressed in a way somewhat out of the box! ^^

Haru was excited about her dress, she felt a real doll and held him for HOURS!

In addition, the many, unexpected compliments received by the fans of this manga filled her with pride.

A truly original and delicious group that we were pleased to play! ^^
